All in all, an activity becomes memorable when your form memories with a like-minded community. Of course, this applies to a book club as well. A perfect place to read, make friends and discuss the things we read.
Here are seven reasons why you should make your kid join a book club asap.
- It induces your kid to read - Kids are the perfect imitators. If the sibling has chocolate, a little one would want it too. Suppose they see tons of other kids performing a reading activity daily. It would make them bury their nose in books or read an extra chapter.
- Kids can make new friends - While reading, the kid gets many doubts and wants to discuss numerous things. This is when the conversation between kids would come in handy. They might have hours of chatting just about what's their favorite character in the book.
- It will broaden the Horizon - Reading the course books to pass higher classes seems like a bad deal. Think about the information and knowledge that your kid will have when they read a genre no one ever heard of. They will grow. The kids will have perspective much before anyone else has.
- Builds up a love for literature - Countless kids don't want to read at all. Book clubs induce the kids about their interests and what they like to read. The exploration journey at a very young age will make the kid value literature and critical thinking altogether. Some book clubs also offer additional reading activities that can double up the fun.
- The kid would read books; they might have never wanted to - Maybe your kid would just like to stick with robots and aliens. But as a parent, you want them to read about science and evolution. Book club does that. It makes you choose a book that you might not have picked in ages.
- The Discipline - With book clubs, there are reading deadlines. So this won't be the case that the kid is reading a single page a day. They would have to plan out their reading speed. This promotes discipline and a great habit.
- There's food - Yes, you read it right. With unique themes and activities, the kid has vast access to the food and snacks. Many book clubs provide food in connection with the theme of the book the kids are reading. This will make them try a new dish, and who knows what strikes their tongue.
All in all, there are endless benefits of a book club, especially for a kid. First, there's growth in soft skills, like teamwork and interaction.
Make your kid fall in love with books just by subscribing to a club.
