We as parents want the right things for our kids, The right education, the right friends, the right degree, and righteousness for a perfect materialistic life.
To raise a smart kid, you don't have to start from zero. The head start is there; you need to maintain it. Seems easy? Well, not entirely, because there's an additional pressure. The kid is already smart; can you be the intelligent parent your kid deserves?
Here are six tips for raising a smart kid for our intelligent parents.
Never limit your child - The intelligent quotient in your kid is much higher than we could think. Never restrict the creative ability. Let him fall, learn and rise. You might think that over-parenting protects the kid. It ruins the ability to understand and tackle challenging situations.
Teaching happiness is more important than money- Never tell your kid to be successful. Instead, inoculate ideas of a healthy life. Happiness and the importance of mental health should be promoted. The kid is smart; all it needs to be provided is guidance.
Knowledge matters more than grades - Grades shouldn't be your as well as the kid's priority. You should ensure that they go through a learning curve. Making mistakes shouldn't be a crime. If the kid is not learning from the mistakes, it is where the problem arises. It should be recognized and worked upon.
Answer their wildest question - "Father, what is a black hole?" "Nothing beta. It's not something you should know."With the above conversation, you have not only shut a curious mind. You have restricted the child's confidence. The kids have an exploring mind. Your part as a parent should be to acknowledge and scientifically answer the topic.
Support your kids even if they fail - Failure should never bother the parents. This will later ensure the kids are comfortable. Smart kids tend to rule and conquer the arena. Circumstances may come where they might not achieve the feat. The heads shouldn't fall. Failure should be treated in a way that strengthens the kids.
Talk to them daily - Make sure you talk to your kids regularly. Teach him a thing or two about the world. Talk about movies, sports, and games. Just engage your child so that they don't feel lonely.
Your kid is the smartest in the career they want to pursue. Deal with care and be human. Set expectations that are real and achievable. Try to create a balanced life to ensure a wholesome future.
